Yesterday was my long anticipated craft show. We (me, my mom and my daughters) arrived at 8am. My table was in front, so we thought that was good. My daughters teacher was in charge, and she just about drove me crazy. My husband stopped by and Mrs. M, tells him how happy she is to have Marley in her class, she's such a sweet girl, and there's nothing at all wrong with just being average. We all just kind of looked at her like, WHAT?? Luckily she quickly walked away to bother someone else. Sorry to get off subject....now back to the craft show. I got set up, and barely had enough room for my stuff. People started coming at 10. My "prime spot" as Mrs. M said, was not such a prime spot after all. People would start by looking at the table across from me, and then they'd go around the circle and miss me. It was a loooonnnnggg day. The biggest seller of the day was the vegetable soup and baked goods. When we packed up a 3, everyones set up looked the same as when we got there. The lady across from me sold 2 towels, the lady behind me sold 1 scarf, quite a few people sold nothing. I made 85.00, that's probably about 5cents an hour for the work I put into it, LOL!. The lady behind me to me this is the worst craft show to do, she said nothing sells, it's too early in the year, and the only reason people sign up is to check out what everyone else is selling that year. My "just average" daughter made 6.00 selling bottlecap necklaces she made, she was so proud. Her goal was to sell 25....she's still wanting that cell phone. She took her 6.00 plus the 2.00 she made for helping me and bought a bracelet that she had her eye on all day.
So, on the bright side, I still have enough stuff for the craft show at my son's school....I hear there's a better crowd at that one!
